Time to fix it

If we can see areas of ill-health in the Sentimetric™ heatmaps then we can ask the question ‘Why?’.  Why are our people reporting cultural factors as unhealthy?

To answer this we engage in the diagnosis phase of BHC:Diagnose, searching for the causes of ill-health.

There are two sorts of causes:

  • Symptomatic causes – those that reinforce the evidence of ill-health

  • Root causes – those that cause one or more symptoms of ill-health

Symptomatic causes can be ineffective business processes.

Root causes can be ineffective leadership: that’s why we measure it.

Does it work?

Case study

In an advertising agency, a symptomatic cause of ill-health in the relationships between two teams was an ineffective creative briefing process. But the root cause of the poor briefing process was the regular turnover of CEOs of the agency that impacting on cultural consistency.

Using BHC:Diagnose

You only need to use BHC:Diagnose where there are symptoms of ill-health that need investigation.

And even then, you might feel able to do the root cause analysis yourself.

We’ve designed BizHealthCheck to give you as much choice as possible.

Diagnosing

BHC:Diagnose is a robust method of engagement with the participants of BHC:Assess.

We sit down with each and every respondent and ask them ‘why’, repeatedly, until we get to the root causes.

We have a global network of associates – BHC Catalysts – who are able to undertake the BHC:Diagnose phase.

The results of BHC:Diagnose are presented in a visual online report that shows the relationship between cause and effect.

BHC:Diagnose recommends actions to be taken to correct the reported symptomatic and root causes of ill-health.

Correcting the causes

BHC:Correct is where the causes of ill-health are corrected.

As can be imagined, the work streams that will be required will be specific to the causes found in each organisation.

However, BHC has a global network of associates that can undertake the corrective actions in any of the functional disciplines of an organisation – such as business process re-engineering, leadership mentoring – that can be imagined as necessary.
